Dollar Day!
I personally cannot believe that it is already January 1st!! It has barely snowed so far this year, not that I'm complaining, I'm not snow's biggest fan! It just doesn't seem like it could possibly be January when I haven't had to shovel several inches of snow yet!
I am excited to start the year though because it means that Haylee's 4th birthday is quickly approaching! I planned an entire year, one a month, of Date Day's just for the two of us. That is exciting too. I also don't start back at school until the 14th! How great is that!! That's enough about my life for now! I also have a few fun things this year that I am working on adding to the blog like Dollar Day and Five Dollar Friday. Hopefully, I will find enough time to give the poor website some attention, It is dreadful and needs a face lift! Other than that, There isn't much more to Say, On to the fun stuff!

Shoots For a Cure!
Sugar Blossom Studio is excited to announce a partnership with Shoots for a Cure (formerly known as Think Pink Photography). Think Pink Photography was founded in October 2007 to support individuals and their families who have been touched by breast cancer. We are a charitable organization that serves two main purposes – celebrating life and supporting the cause. Recently, we changed our name and our support. We now want to support ALL cancer patients, not just breast cancer.
Through our professional photographer network, we are helping cancer patients to celebrate life with charitable photography sessions. Individuals may choose to document their fight against the disease before or during treatment, or prefer to capture their victory by scheduling a session within 12 months after treatment is completed. Photographers world-wide are now available to donate time and talent to celebrate life and support the cause. There is no cost or obligation to the cancer patient. Clients participating in a Shoots for a Cure session will receive a complimentary photo session, as well as a set of 10 5x7 prints from the session. They will also receive a 15% discount on any additional portraits they wish to purchase, although there is absolutely no purchase required at any time.
To support the cause, we donate and fundraise for The American Cancer Society, Susan G Komen Foundation and have partnered with The Eric R. Beverly Family Foundation. All funds generated through donations and various fundraising efforts are paid directly to The American Cancer Society, Susan G Komen Foundation or The Eric R. Beverly Family Foundation in our name. As a 3-time breast cancer survivor, Danielle Beverly and her husband Eric joined together to form a foundation dedicated to promoting education, increasing awareness, and providing support and resources for families who have been touched by breast cancer.

Family Joy - Week 1
Last week I started a three week online photography class hosted by Willette. The class is to help us learn how to document our own family in photos. I really enjoyed the first weeks theme: immediate family. Next week we are doing siblings so I may be borrowing my cousins kiddos. Willette’s Family joy promises to help you focus on capturing both the posed AND the everyday family moments of your family. We were lucky enough to have Nana and Papa home to help with our session!
